Although parties don't happen every weekend, they occur pretty often because everyone likes to celebrate with the whole IB year. The one on Friday was amazing! Foosball, Pinball and Pacman, a prank, live DJ, cotton candy machine and a chocolate fountain. It was the Sweet Sixteen of a friend of mine and her family went all-out. She invited our whole IB year and other friends of ours, but it's still considered an "IB Party". There were a couple IB birthday parties over the summer, but seeing as this is the first during the year, it's the first officially "IB" party. Fortunately, it was not like some of the other IB parties I've heard about, with drinking and Facebooking drunken photos.
Although we may fore go the illegal booze, we still keep tabs on the "drug dealers" of the IB world. Within two days, I saw three people seek out Advil (third indication of an IB student: knowledgeable of all sources of Advil). You would be surprised at the amount of people who keep over-the-counter painkillers accessible.
But now are we getting a little taste of the IB stress. We've got a short History report and skit due Monday, plus an easy Math Task. Of course, we've barely bothered with it all until this weekend, so we're all stressing about it last-minute. Come Monday, we'll all be groggy and sleep deprived or over-caffeinated and jittery. Knowing our luck, we'll have a second wave of the illness we're all just getting over, given our weakened state.
Alas, I am back to Math.
A bientot,
Ace
